Day 5 complete!

Legs and Back is a tough workout! I am pretty sure it is because you haven't fully recovered from the Plyo workout 3 days before, at least early in the program. My legs were still a little sore from the plyo which made it extremely difficult to complete all the leg moves for the full time.

I tried and kept bringing it, but I will admit that was not my best workout and will have to focus more next time to bring it all out.

Meals:
Breakfast: Cheerios/milk and egg white/cheese and sausage wrap
Snack: Kashi Dark chocolate and coconut bar
Lunch: Goulash leftovers from last night (yum!!)
Snack: 30 pistachios
Dinner: Sushi (2 yellow tail and 1 cruchy shrimp roll)
Post Workout: Protein shake (creatine and L-glutamine)

OOOOOMMMMMMM!!!!!!! Day 4-Yoga Done!

That was fun, but difficult. I was able to do most of the moves but holding them for the 30 secs was very difficult and I am not that flexible, yet. It was a really intense, but very relaxing session. I think it actually helped me with some of the soreness, as well.

Most Difficult move: The Wheel, I am not flexible enough to do that one yet, just stayed in table???

Looking forward (not really) to legs and Back tonight.

MEALS:
Breakfast: Bowl of cheerios
Snack: Lara bar Apple pie
Lunch: Subway Turkey jalapeƱo sandwich w/ lots of spinach, onions, and peppers.
Snack: Kashi Dark Chocolate and Coconut bar
Dinner: Italian Turkey sausage and ground turkey and cabbage goulash (unbelievably good!)
Post workout: 8 oz. Low fat chocolate milk.

Shoulders and Arms - Day 3

This was a great workout. I was able to keep up with the workout, with the exception of some of the 16 reps exercises. I will need to adjust my weight for those down a little to ensure that I can make it to max reps. But I feel like I think I am supposed to post workout. Tired arms and shoulders. I think this is the best feeling. My arms feel spent, but not so much that I cannot do normal activities (like they are after chest and back).

Ab Ripper X was a little better this time, but I still have trouble getting the 25 reps on most of the moves. Right now I am a 10-15 on most and 20 on others. But I am still working and that is the point.

On a separate note, my legs are so sore, I can barely move today, until after I walk around a little and loosen them up. But they just go right back to stiff and sore w/in minutes of no movement. I am sure it will pass but man, does this suck, particularly in my calves.

Looking forward to Yoga X tonight, think that will actually help this stiffness.

MEALS:

Breakfast: Protien Shake w/ creatine and L-glutamine
Snack: Honey Nut Cheerios w Milk. (1% bc the University store didnt have skim)
Lunch: Homade Cashew Chicken w/ 1/2 cup rice
Snack: Kashi Dark Chocolate and Coconut bar
Dinner: Shrimp scampi w/ whole wheat penne (2oz pasta with shrimp, lightly sauced)
Post workout: Protien shake w/ creatine and L-glutamine

OMG, Plyometrics!!!!

WOW! That was tough. Plyo is definitely the extreme in P90x.

Hot foot was definitely the most difficult exercise, but it was difficult from beginning to end. I had to take a couple of pause breaks for and extra 30 seconds. I am sure that I will wake up in the morning and not be able to walk. But it is a good kinda pain...

Meals:

Breakfast: Turkey Sausage, egg white and cheese wrap
Snack: Kashi Dark chocolate and coconut granola bar
Lunch: 6 oz. Pork Tenderloin, spinach salad w/ 1oz mozzarella and mushrooms...2 tbsp balsamic vinagrette
Snack: pineapple chunks
Dinner: Homemade Cashew chicken with 1/2-3/4 cup rice
Post workout: Chocolate/Banana protein shake w/ creatine and L-glutamine

Day 1

I completed the fit test yesterday, but I left the numbers at home, so I will update that later tonight.

Well, I got only 1 thing to say about P90x Day 1, OUCH!

I remember it being difficult but this was brutal. I also remembered why I don't do these in the morning, because afterward i want to sleep. I was so tired and my arms were spent. I could barely wash my hair in the shower...lol

But I keep telling myself, it is worth it in the long run!

I did Chest & Back today and I will do Ab Ripper X tonight. (will probably start doing most of these in the evening, because I am not a morning person and I hate rushing through because of time constraints and there aren't any in the evening.) I was able to do more pushups than the last time i started this (1 year ago, for a month), but they are so much harder the 2nd time around. And I still cannot do an unassisted pullup yet (I know, I am a huge p*ssy), but the goal at the end of this is to be able to do 10+ unassisted.

Most Challenging Excercise: Diamond pushups...I have decent strength to do the standard stuff, but this one is hard, period. Cant wait to be able to do these the proper way.

I think the meal plan is going to be great as long as I am not lazy in the evening and fix my lunch then. That way in the morning, it is just a get and go kinda thing.

Meal Plan:

Post workout: Protein Shake (Whey protein, Creatine, L-glutamine, skim milk)

Breakfast: Strawberry yogurt and pineapple (few small pieces)

Snack: Kashi TLC Fruit and Grain Bar (Dark Chocolate and Coconut)

Lunch: Spinach salad with 6oz. steak (sliced). Added mushrooms, and small sprinkle of Mozzarella. I also add a couple tbsp of light balsamic vinaigrette.

Snack: 2-3 oz of pinapple chunks

Dinner: Southwestern Seasoned Pork Tenderloin with vegetable stir fry.

So, all in all a good day. And on to the next!

Finally ready to make a change!

Hello,

My name is John. I am a 32 yo accountant from Tn and I am tired of being tired, overweight and lazy. I am taking the leap and starting P90X on Monday (8/30/10). I want to use this blog to track my progress and make myself accountable. I am letting all my friends know and that way they can stay on me to keep pushing play!!!!

But 1st the tale of the tape:

Age: 32
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 216 lbs
Waist: 38" (on my jeans, will give actual when I complete the initial fit test)

I am planning on getting all the initial measurements this weekend and posting them here. I will post Day 1 photos as well.

If you are reading this, Thanks! If you notice that I have stopped blogging, let me know and make me accountable.

Thanks,

John
